Love you, love your mom. “You know the one. Raymond, but Jewish and skinny.”

Raymond was nicer.

I know every episode of Raymond, verbatim. Every. episode. That's how many times she's watched it over and over since she's been here (until she stopped watching tv). I could do the dialogue, the timing, right along with them. Same with the Good Place. The nice thing about dementia is that everything is new every time. The annoying thing about dementia caregiving is it's not new to you, it's like what they used to call Chinese water torture (which I'm sure is politically incorrect, now, but I have no idea what it's called now).

I loved that show when it was on. It was annoying and funny and they were all really good at what they did. I can imagine it would get hard to hear all of it over and over. My dogs are the same as dementia patients in that they eat every day, the same food EVERY DAY and it's as if they've never eaten before and that it's the best thing that could ever happen to them. It's a joy to behold. I think the modern day equivalent of Chinese water torture would be getting locked in a room with either recording on auto replay of Trump talking about anything or having the real thing (orange goon) instead. That would do me in. I'll tell you anything....MAKE IT STOP!
