Every day a small loss, often a moment of beauty or whimsy appreciated together - a cloud, the moon, a dog, our dogs, a kind word or deed.

She wanted to give a gift to the lady who does her nails. But, she doesn't remember the young ladies name. So she put the gift in a card.

She wanted to do it now, soon, anxious for some reason.

She drops the envelope at the shop, and because her person wasn't there, she gave the envelope to the owner.

Then she worries - I didn't get a call, no acknowledgement. Of course, the lady at the shop doesn't have a phone number or email for her. We get a call from the shop to make sure which person the card and gift are for. The owner sounds annoyed (to J).

No she feels she has to go to the shop when her lady is there, and apologize for causing her trouble.

A simple act of kindness, bouncing around in a well of forgetfulness and lost planning abilities. Reassurances fail :-)

I fear this will be the "good old days" in a few years.

“Imagine trying to reassemble the lettuce in a chopped salad.” Such a great metaphor
